OpenAI's GPT models — broad capabilities, well-known ecosystem.
1. Create an OpenAI account
Open the link below, then click Sign Up. You can sign up with email, Google, Microsoft or Apple. You will need to verify your email and enter a phone number for SMS confirmation.
After login you arrive at the dashboard. If it asks you to create an organization you can safely skip by clicking I'll do this later.
2. Open API Keys
In the left sidebar of the dashboard click API Keys. You will see the list of your keys.
3. Create and copy the key
Click the Create new secret key button. Give the key a name (e.g. youkore) and confirm. The key is shown only once — copy it immediately!
4. Add a payment method
To use the API you also need a payment method. Go to Settings → Billing, click Add payment method and add a card.
OpenAI offers $5 in free credits to new users — enough to test without commitment.
